Family members have shared that the Longhorns icon is currently in a 'critical but stable condition' following this unfortunate incident in Burnet, Texas. A statement released by his family, as reported by On3, detailed the harrowing circumstances: "Jordan was involved in an accident this afternoon near his hometown of Burnet. The machine he was operating on his ranch caught fire, and while he managed to escape, he sustained severe burns during the ordeal. He was able to reach one of his ranch workers, who promptly drove him to a nearby hospital. From there, he was flown via air ambulance to Austin, where he continues to fight for recovery."
At 40 years old, Shipley had a brief but noteworthy career in the NFL, playing for several teams including the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Drafted in 2010 as the 84th overall pick, he signed a four-year contract valued at $2.45 million, which included a signing bonus of $757,000.
Shipley's entry into the league was marked by excitement when he made a remarkable 63-yard punt return during his very first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. However, his promising career took a devastating turn the following season when he suffered injuries to both his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL), effectively derailing his professional aspirations.
