A true legend in sports broadcasting, Dick Bremer, is about to be immortalized in the Twins Hall of Fame! This is a momentous occasion, as Bremer joins an elite group of just 42 members. "Dick's voice wasn't just a description of the action on the field; it was a soundtrack to the memories of generations of Twins fans," said Derek Falvey, Twins President of Baseball & Business Operations. "His connection to the fans is rare and special."
Bremer's journey began at the University of Iowa, calling men's basketball games, and he went on to cover various sports in Minnesota, including the Vikings, North Stars, and Gophers. But it was with the Twins that he found his true calling. From the World Series-winning teams of 1987 and 1991 to the challenging 59-win season in 2016, Bremer called nearly 5,000 games, leaving an indelible mark on the franchise.
And this is the part most people miss: Bremer's impact extends beyond the broadcast booth. He officially retired in 2023 but continues to contribute as a special assistant with the Twins.
"Honoring Dick with this induction is a testament to his dedication and love for the organization and the community," Falvey added.
