Unleashing the Dog Mom Life: Tennis Paradise's Andreeva and Sabalenka's Furry Friends
Tennis Paradise is buzzing with the arrival of two new members: Mirra Andreeva's adorable puppy, Rassy, and Aryna Sabalenka's King Cavalier Cocker Spaniel, Ash.
But here's where it gets controversial... While both players are embracing the dog mom life, their experiences with their furry companions have been quite different. Andreeva's Rassy had to stay behind when she traveled to Australia, while Sabalenka's Ash has been by her side at every tournament.
Andreeva, who won her second WTA 1000 title at Indian Wells last year, got Rassy after the 2025 season concluded. Rassy's arrival had been a promise made by Andreeva's mom ever since she cracked the top 20 in the PIF WTA Rankings in October 2024. However, Rassy couldn't make the trip Down Under for the Australian swing, and Andreeva had hoped she'd make her season debut at Dubai. Unfortunately, after a change of plans, Rassy tagged along for the trip to Indian Wells and was with Andreeva on the practice courts.
On the other hand, Sabalenka officially added Ash to her coaching team on Monday. The four-time Grand Slam champion shared a social media post featuring Ash, who was featured in a carousel of images, including on-site at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden ahead of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open, the third 1000-event on the WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz. Sabalenka described Ash as the cutest dog on earth, saying that he was almost four months old and brought lots of joy and fun to the team.
So, while both players are enjoying the dog mom life, their experiences have been quite different. But that's the beauty of tennis - every player has their own unique story to tell. And we can't wait to see what the future holds for these furry friends and their tennis moms!
